Embedded System Teamlead
The position
As Embedded Systems Teamlead you will lead a team of +/- 20 multi disciplinary engineers working on hardware, software, and mechanicals within team Electrical Systems. Each disciplines consists of several Engineers and Lead Engineers. You ensure that the disciplines are producing results according to planning.
While the team is multidisciplinary, the focus for this position is more on the software side. The current priority for the team is to finalise the test program with the prototype and implement engineering solutions for the production model, alongside certification activities. These tasks will happen concurrently. Over the coming year, the balance of the activities will shift from testing and engineering to full-time certification, which is a crucial aspect of the development.
The PAL-V Liberty contains a lot of complex electronics and software. The electronics contain digital, analogue, and high-power circuits. The software is largely distributed in system software, usually programmed in C and includes complex control algorithms. An example of this is the system to control exhaust gas emissions.

Tasks and responsibilities
- Lead by example, ensuring engineering results across hardware, software, and mechanical disciplines align with PAL-V’s production and test program plans.
- Implement PAL-V’s agile sprint method (similar to Scrum) to translate planning into daily tasks, while coordinating resources and team efforts to meet objectives.
- Manage risk assessments using PAL-V’s risk management methods and update progress through the PAL-V Progress Tracker tool.
- Identify and address planning issues, propose creative solutions to keep projects on track, and report team progress to the Project Manager and other Teamleads.
- Coach and mentor team members to enhance their skills, foster strong communication of company goals, and advocate for team needs.
Softwareskills
- Experience with C++ and embedded software
- You will often work with the following tools: GIT, Jira, Jenkings,
- Experience with Software testing and Hardware In the Loop (HIL) testing.
Your profile
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics/Software Engineering
- It is advantageous if you are familiar with DO-178 and working according to this process.
- Experience in a result-driven technical environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, motivational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management and organisational abilities.
