Exploring international Flight Test Locations

Internships
Operations

About the assignment

Introduction

As part of our certification process, we are preparing for the flight test program. PAL-V would like to explore international flight test locations as it is expected this comes with various advantages such as more flyable days per year. However, this raises several logistical and regulatory questions that need thorough investigation:

  • Which countries would be suitable for flight testing?
  • What are the regulations from the local Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA)?
  • What are the associated costs of conducting flight tests in these countries (e.g., landing fees, permits, logistics)?
  • How do the test plans align with the local regulatory requirements?

Key tasks and responsibilities

This project will involve both a logistical and regulatory analysis. The student will be responsible for investigating potential countries, compiling a list of options, evaluating the feasibility, and considering factors such as cost, CAA requirements, and alignment with our test objectives.
