Finance Officer
The position
We are looking for an all-round finance officer, to join our financial team. You will be involved in all aspects of our financial administration, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and development of internal policies and procedures. The team consists of an interim Financial Controller, and external ERP consultant who also works as a Finance Officer, and a Project Lead who occasionally assists with financial projects. Together, they ensure the financial health and efficiency of our innovative company.
The ideal candidate for the Finance Officer position is a hands-on professional with a strong foundation in financial administration. This person excels in day-to-day financial operations while contributing to the broader financial goals of the organisation. Your future job
Tasks and responsibilities
- Independently process and book invoices, ensuring accurate and timely management of accounts payable and receivable, including vendor and customer accounts reconciliation.
- Assist the Financial Controller with month-end activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and resolving suspense account discrepancies.
- Provide documentation and assistance for statutory audits.
- Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring that bank statements align with internal records and promptly investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies while preparing financial data and supporting the preparation of reports of internal and external stakeholders.
Software skills
- Familiarity with financial systems and ERP software; knowledge of Odoo is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel is regarded as beneficial.
Your profile
- Minimum MBO 4 level in administration, finance or accounting.
- You have 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial administration or accounting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are among your key strengths.
- You have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- You are detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy in your work.
- You are capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
