Senior Cloud Engineer
The position
PAL-V is looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to strengthen the team and further develop our cloud environment. PAL-V has migrated to Microsoft Azure and is currently expanding its cloud infrastructure with building blocks. As part of the cloud development team (4 people), you’ll design, implement, test, release, monitor, and support our cloud solutions.
Your team of cloud engineers works in a SCRUM Agile manner with Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), GIT and Azure DevOps pipelines. You will work on SCRUM Agile projects with refinements, sprints, reviews, and retrospectives. This approach supports the iterative development process, close collaboration with key users/stakeholders, and alignment with their requirements and priorities. Key topics include data warehousing, business intelligence, SIEM-SOC, role-based access control, and AI.
Mostly based at our office in Raamsdonksveer, but we’re familiar with hybrid work using remote tools. We collaborate with consultancy partners, offering expertise for learning and tackling complex design and implementation challenges.
Your future job
Tasks and responsibilities
- Translate PAL-V’s IT ambitions into architecture, design, implementation, and management processes.
- Develop Azure cloud solutions.
- Build cloud solutions based on Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Work in an Agile team with associated SCRUM ceremonies.
- Maintain and extend the CI/CD environment in Azure DevOps.
Soft(ware)skills

- Ability to connect and align with team members.
- Analytical and balanced pragmatism (making a good balance between a quick adequate solution and the need for a more “expensive” sustainable solution).
- Microsoft certified (or demonstrably skilled) in:
- Azure fundamentals;
- Azure developer associate;
- Azure solutions architect expert;
- DevOps engineer expert.
Your profile
- You are fluent in English.
- You hold a BSc. degree (HBO in the Netherlands) or higher in information and telecommunication technology.
- You have over 5 years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud development and maintenance.
- You have demonstrable experience with IT-infrastructure components, including:
- Virtual server environments, Docker containers, and microservices;
- Cloud storage solutions;
- Networking infrastructures with complex IP architectures;
- Identity management and RBAC implementations.
