Strategic Buyer
The position
As a Strategic Buyer, you play a crucial role in building and optimizing the supply chain for our innovative product. You will be responsible for strategic sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and managing supplier relationships that support PAL-V's mission to pioneer the world's first Fly-Drive mobility solution. The Supply Chain Management team consists of a Supply Chain Manager, an Operational and Technical Buyer, two Project Leads, and a Purchase Assistant.
Your future job
Tasks and responsibilities
- Develop and implement a category strategy for assigned procurement areas, such as technology, materials, and components for fly-drive vehicle production.
- Identify, select, and manage suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery reliability.
- Lead price negotiations and create contracts in line with internal procurement procedures and policies.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, including logistics, delivery, and compliance risks.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, R&D, production) and manage industrialisation projects at suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to support strategic decision-making.
- Conduct negotiations and establish contracts according to internal procurement policies, securing the most favorable conditions regarding cost, lead time, and quality.
Essential skills and competencies
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, we use Odoo.
Your profile
- A bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Economics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain within the automotive, aerospace, or related industry.
- Completed NEVI 1 and 2 (or equivalent procurement certifications) is a strong plus.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
- Proactive and results-driven mindset in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch.
