The position

As a Vehicle Simulation Engineer, you will be part of the Simulation & System Engineering team. To replace a position in the two-person simulation team, we ensure readiness for flight and certification testing of the production model. The team provides the R&D department with crucial research support, advises on aerodynamic and vehicle performance improvements, prepares and evaluates vehicle tests, and assists with air and road certification at the vehicle level. 

You will work on the PAL-V Engineering Simulator in a flexible role, quickly switching between exciting challenges. Your work will influence high-level vehicle decisions, requiring close cooperation with multiple departments across the company.

At the same time, you will help elevate the systems and methods you work with by ensuring validation and configuration control. You proactively take ownership of tasks and opportunities while maintaining alignment with overall priorities. By taking initiative in reporting on progress and planning, you contribute to a more structured and effective way of working beyond daily responsibilities.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Advancing the simulator into fully integrated, traceable, configuration-controlled software.
  • Conducting vehicle simulations in our unique PAL-V Engineering Simulator.
  • Enhancing and optimizing our simulation models. 
  • Processing and reporting (flight) test data and simulation data. 
  • Documentation of simulator validation processes. 
  • Providing valuable insights and recommendations to engineering teams regarding vehicle performance.
  • Improving vehicle aerodynamics and integrating results into the Simulator.

Softwareskills

  • Advanced skills in modeling and programming using MATLAB.
  • Proficient at programming using Phython and C#.
  • Working with Office 365

Your profile

  • An academic degree in Aerospace engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in software configuration control is welcome.
  • Expertise in Aerodynamics.
  • Experience in (flight) data processing.
  • Strong written communication and reporting skills in English.
  • Preferred experience in simulation validation.
  • A genuine passion for aviation, it's a plus if you have flying experience, especially concerning tests and validations conducted on our test vehicles and Magni gyrocopters.
    This role provides you with the opportunity to fly/drive in our simulator on a regular basis and on one of our Magni gyrocopters at least once.
